Unexpected and Amazing

In the early days of World War II, supply ships for Britain were being sunk by German submarines operating beyond the range of land-based bombers. One proposed solution was unexpected. They created a floating aircraft carrier platform made of pykrete, a mixture of wood pulp and ice. Though the project eventually proved unnecessary as the war progressed, it bore a name from a biblical passage that described its features. It was called Operation Habakkuk.
“Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told” (Habakkuk 1:5).
Unexpected and amazing—two words that described God’s plans for His people and their future. In fact it was so unexpected that they could see God behind it.
Have you ever had something unexpected occur? Perhaps God was guiding you in some way. When that happens, the unexpected can become the amazing.
Challenge for Today: Consider how in your life God has used the unexpected to produce the amazing.
